Background

I was formerly senior lecturer in English language teaching at the Centre for English Language Studies and course tutor for the open distance learning MA in TEFL/TESL at the University of Birmingham.  I maintain links with the Department of English through my supervision of postgraduate research students.

Teaching

I take a lead on learning and teaching related activities within the University's centre for Academic Practice and Organisational Development, and educational development initiatives across the University

Research

My research interests are in task-based language learning, teacher cognition and the impact of in-service teacher development.
